• Hardwood and laminate flooring, and some countertop materials need to be acclimated to your home before installation; these materials expand and contract according to humidity and temperature. The idea is to have the material acclimate before it is permanently affixed and subject to splitting and warping; the time needed for acclimation is always specified by the manufacturer.

• The installation and work areas need power, adequate lighting, ventilation and access to water

• Arrange for children and pets to be kept away from the installation site and work vehicles

• There needs to be a responsible party on site, able to make last minute decisions; many customers elect to spend the day at home
